The expression of the connection between music and art, much like the process of creative conception, is inherently boundless and free. Finding one's own voice within the classics and expressing oneself with ease presents a major challenge for artistic performers. This challenge is heightened within a highly pressurized environment, making the coexistence of "competition" and "music" a complex relationship in the minds of artists. Nevertheless, the ability of a musician to communicate with the audience, persuade experts and scholars, and engage a broad general audience simultaneously is crucial in determining their career trajectory. Learning how to communicate through music is not only demanding but also extends beyond practicing in classrooms or rehearsal spaces. Music competitions, therefore, serve as an exceptional platform for learning, enabling artists to gather, observe, and comprehend public and professional interpretations of their performances, facilitating continuous improvement.
While the primary focus of the Selection Competition will be our eventual winner, the true artists who leave a mark in their time are those who continuously seek innovation and self-improvement in their artistic creations while embracing the freedom of imagination. Through this selection process, the art festival aims to provide musicians with more stages and opportunities for refinement.
Competition Rewards The winner from the competition will be invited to perform with the Taipei Symphony Orchestra in August 2024. The winner will have the opportunity to discuss concerto repertoire freely with the conductor and perform a complete piano concerto in the concert. The main objective of this performance is to assist young musicians to launch their performance career. There will be no additional performance fees provided. If the winner resides outside Taiwan, the festival will cover the cost of their travel expenses for their trip to Taiwan.
