Described by legendary pianist Martha Argerich as a “sensitive, elegant pianist, and a talented artist”, and by The Boston Musical Intelligencer as having “everything she needs to entrance her audience,” Xiaopei Xu won over the audience at her Boston Symphony Hall debut with the Boston Pops Orchestra under Maestro Keith Lockhart. Ms. Xu combines her profound connection with musical expression with an equal passion for visual arts. Her works have been published by the Clara Haskil Competition’s Jeune Critique, and she has been commissioned for various installation and collaborative projects. Ms. Xu holds a MM degree from Yale School of Music and BM degree from the New England Conservatory. She currently resides in Boston, where she is a doctoral candidate at Boston University and a piano instructor for non-majors.
