Celebrated his ‘intimate dialogue with him… and the audience’ (Barrie Examiner), and prize winner of the Shean Piano Competition, Ka Long (Chris) Au is an Australian pianist who is currently based in Montreal, Canada. Despite being diagnosed at the age of 16 with Juvenile Rheumatoid Arthritis, he is currently taking biologic injections, courtesy of the Australian Government, in order to control his condition. Mr. Au’s primary principle teachers have been Margaret Hair, John Perry, David Louie, and Jean Saulnier. He is a frequent participant and performer in summer music festivals such as the Banff Centre, the International Holland Music Sessions, Orford Musique, and the John Perry Academy. He completed his Undergraduate Studies and Artist Diploma at the Glenn Gould School of the Royal Conservatory of Music in Toronto with John Perry and David Louie. He is currently pursuing his Masters of Music with Jean Saulnier at the University of Montreal.
