Eligibility: The International Maestro Piano Competition is open to pianists born on or after January 1, 1993.
Application Period: Open: August 1, 2024 Close: November 15, 2024 at 24:00 (Taiwan Time)
Procedure: 1. Applications must be submitted online. 2. Applicants are required to prepare the following data files (a. to d.) and upload them on the application page:
a. Provide the YouTube link to the performance video of the repertoire for the Preliminary Selection. b. An image file of a recent glossy color photograph (300dpi or higher, front-facing, chest up). c. A PDF file of a passport or an official document containing the applicant's name, nationality, and date of birth. d. A PDF file of letters of recommendation from two eminent musicians, at least one specializing in piano.
Important Information for Competition Participants: 1. Once selected, participants will receive an invitation via email. Please sign and return the invitation by December 17, 2024. Failure to do so will result in the cancellation of your eligibility. 2. Free accommodation will be provided in Kaohsiung. However, if a participant does not advance to the 2nd round, the free accommodation will end at 11 am on January 15, 2025. Should you wish to extend your stay, an additional fee of USD 40 per night (based on two people per room) will apply. 3. Competitors under the age of 14 must be accompanied by a parent in the residence hall for the duration of the competition. The accommodation fee for parents is USD 40 per night. 4. Competitors are eligible for a flight subsidy: up to USD 750 for flights from Asian countries and up to USD 1,500 for flights from non-Asian countries. To apply for this subsidy, proof of ticket purchase must be submitted. Please ensure you keep all relevant documentation.
Payment of Entry Fee: The entry fee of 5000 new Taiwanese dollars or 170 USD must be paid via bank transfer by the application closing date.
【Notes】 1. Contestants who have won the 1st prize in competitions associated with the World Federation of International Music Competitions (WFIMC) since 2020 may proceed directly to the 1st round without the need to submit a preselection video. 2. The chosen repertoire can be changed before December 20, 2024. No changes can be made after January 1, 2025. 3. Applications received after the closing date will not be accepted. 4. Incomplete applications or applications lacking necessary information and accompanying items will not be considered for Preliminary Selection. 5. Applicants should contact the Secretariat if they do not receive a confirmation email of receipt of their application within a week of submission. 6. Entry fees will not be refunded under any circumstances.
