Guidelines for Active Participants of the Festival
● Application Deadline: November 15th, 2024, 24:00 ● The Festival is open to pianists worldwide, without age limit. ● Application Fee: US$ 170. ● Applicants must submit YouTube video links of their performance via the application form. The repertoire should consist of solo piano pieces of their choice, with a minimum total length of 5 minutes. ● To join the Promising-Star Competition, please ensure your video performance submission has a minimum duration of 15 minutes and features at least two contrasting works in style. ● To be eligible for the Promising-Star Competition, applicants have to be born after January 1st, 1993. ● To give more opportunities, previous winners of the Promising-Star Competition are not eligible for the competition. ● Application results will be announced no later than December 15th, 2024. ● No more than 80 students will be accepted for the Festival, and no more than 28 participants will be selected to perform in the Promising-Star Concerts. ● If you register to participate in the "Promising Star Competition" but are not selected, yet the level meets the standard for active participants, you will be directly selected as an active participant. ● For more information about Promising Star Concerts and Competition, please refer Promising Star Concert & Competition
Unedited recording of the applicant must be submitted as YouTube videos with the following consideration: ● Each piece should be recorded in one continuous unedited video and the titles, fadeouts, or video transitions are not included. ● The recording must be of excellent technical quality and preferably recorded professionally. ● The applicant’s face and hands must be clearly visible throughout the recording. ● The recording must be made within 3 years of the submission of the application. ● Only solo piano works will be accepted.
As an Active Participant: ● The participant will be notified by e-mail after successfully being chosen. After notification, the participant should complete the tuition fee transfer before December 20, 2024. ● Tuition Fee of the Festival: US$ 1,400. ● If participants need the organizer to provide accommodations, the accommodation fee will be US$ 400 per person for the entire duration of the festival. Participants whose age is under 14 years old must be accompanied by a parent in the residence hall for the festival's duration. The parent's accommodation fee is the same as above. ● Participants will receive 3 lessons from the International Jury and 3 lessons from the Festival Faculty. Each lesson is 45 minutes. ● Participants will receive one ticket to the All-Star Faculty Concert. ● Parents are welcome to accompany their children and can attend their children's lessons. However, unless they register as full-time passive auditors, they will not be allowed to attend other festival events beyond their own children's activities. ● If the parents of the selected participants wish to attend all of the festival activities and obtain tickets to the All-Star Faculty Concert, Promising-Star concert, they have to choose the option in the application form to become a full-time passive auditor for the reduced rate package of US $400. This only applies to the parents whose children are successfully selected as participants.
Payment instructions ●The application will be considered completed only after the bank transfer receipt of the application fee has been uploaded. (please refer to Bank Transfer Information) ● The application fee is one-time, and non-refundable. ● Applicants have to absorb any extra charges from the bank by themselves. ● If you want to cancel your hotel reservation or participation, please contact us at [email protected] before December 27, 2024. After the deadline, there will be no refunds.
