Maestro Art, a non-profit organization founded by pianist Chun-Chieh Yen in 2015, has grown into a pivotal force in the classical music community, dedicated to fostering the next generation of musical talent. One of its significant achievements came in 2022, when Maestro Art was commissioned by the prestigious Cliburn Foundation to host the Prizewinner Concert for Yunchan Lim, showcasing the organization's impact on the global stage.
In its earlier years, Maestro Art gained recognition by hosting the first Music Fest Perugia at NTNU in 2017, an event that was met with great acclaim. Building on this success, the organization launched the International Taipei Maestro Piano Festival in 2018, attracting an exceptional roster of world-renowned pianists such as Robert Levin, Dang Thai Son, John Perry, Jerome Lowenthal, Boris Berman, Bernd Goetzke, Pascal Rogé, and Michel Beroff. This festival quickly became one of Taiwan’s most prestigious classical music events, celebrated both for its stellar concert programming and its commitment to the musical training of young adults. The festival has since been renamed the International Maestro Piano Festival (IMPF).
Maestro Art has consistently played a crucial role in advancing the careers of young musicians. A prime example is the 2020 Maestro Competition, which led to the debut album of winner Yi-Chen Feng on Universal Music. Feng's success continued with an Asia recital tour organized by Maestro Art Taiwan, further solidifying the organization's role in helping emerging pianists gain international recognition.
After a three-year hiatus due to the pandemic, IMPF made a highly anticipated return in 2024. The 2025 festival, set to take place in Kaohsiung City, will once again feature the International Maestro Piano Competition, which has been on hold for four years. This festival offers a rich array of master classes, lectures, and faculty concerts, along with the Promising Star Concert, where one outstanding participant will be selected to perform with a leading orchestra at one of Taiwan's most prestigious venues. Through these initiatives, Maestro Art remains steadfast in its mission to discover and nurture the world’s most talented young pianists, offering them unparalleled opportunities to develop their artistry and shine on the international stage.
