Opens for Worldwide Pianists & Auditors at All Age

The International Maestro Piano Festival, now in its 6th edition since 2017, offers an exceptional opportunity for pianists of all ages and nationalities. To be eligible for the festival, applicants must submit a performance video of at least 5 minutes. We will select 80 participants, each receiving six 45-minute lessons—three from our world-renowned international jury members and three from the esteemed festival faculty. This is a rare chance to refine your artistry under the guidance of top classical music figures.

For those wishing to compete in the prestigious Promising Star Concert, a video featuring two contrasting pieces totaling at least 15 minutes is required. The winner of the Promising Star Concert will be invited back to perform with the Kaohsiung Youth Symphony Orchestra—a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to grace one of Taiwan’s top stages.

Masterclasses and Promising Star Concerts will be held at National Sun Yat-Sen University, while the highly anticipated All-Star Faculty Concert will take place at the renowned Dadong Music Center.

The festival is open to the public, and you can attend as a passive observer by purchasing tickets at the door or apply as a full-time observer for unlimited access.

The International Maestro Piano Festival will take place on the scenic campus of National Sun Yat-Sen University (NSYSU), one of Taiwan's most prestigious music schools. Nestled near the breathtaking SiZihWan Bay, renowned for its beautiful beach, NSYSU offers the perfect setting for this festival. Participants will have the opportunity to explore the city, enjoy the natural beauty of the surroundings, and immerse themselves in a vibrant week of music and culture.

​Before the International Maestro Piano Festival, there is the highly anticipated International Maestro Piano Competition. This offers a rare opportunity for participants to compete at such a high level and then stay on for the festival to further develop their artistry. Competitors are invited to remain for the entire festival, where they can engage in meaningful artistic exchanges with the world-renowned international juries, gaining valuable insights beyond the competition stage.

As part of this exclusive experience, participants may also perform again in the prestigious Promising Star Concert, where one outstanding musician could be selected for a return invitation to perform with a leading orchestra—an honor reserved for the brightest emerging talents.

Participants have the flexibility to choose between competing in the competition, attending the festival, or doing both. A discounted fee is offered for those who wish to take advantage of the full experience by participating in both the competition and the festival, making this an unparalleled opportunity for emerging pianists to elevate their careers.​
